Minutes from August 23, 2007 approvedTreasurer’s Report:
- Checking Balance: $16,257.56
- Money Market Balance: $10,160.39
- No discussion on 2007-08 PTA budget
- 2007-08 Budget approved
Principal’s Report:
- The International Baccalaureate Program application has been filed
- Quail Run will be hiring a Spanish teacher so that the school can meet the IB foreign language requirement
- Quail Run needs a crossing guard from 2:30 to 3:30
Entertainment Books:
- Sold 568 books
- Profit was $6,697 which was more than our goal
February Book Fair- We need a committee co-chair:
Halloween Class Parties and Parade:
- October 25th
- Parade is at 11:00 a.m.
Harvest Scream:
- Games will be inside.
- Cake Walk will be on the stage
- PTA needs lots of volunteers
- Only need to volunteer for 30 minutes
- We need costume judges
- 6th grade and above can also be volunteers
- We need lots of donations of prepackaged cakes, cupcakes, cookie
There will be a contest between classrooms for donations- the winning class will get a pizza
United Parent Council – Emily Ellis:
- Technology- PV distict has the most computers per student in the state of Arizona
- UPromise- A program where different products when purchase part will go into college savings for a child: (upromise.com/schools)
- Next UPC meeting is October 17
School Tax Credit : Mr. Certain:
- The last day to turn in donation that can be the tax credit is Dec. 21st- but please turn it in sooner because the school office will be very busy that day and it may not get recorded
- Money goes to before and after school programs
Prevention Program- Mr. Certain:
- Mr. Certain proposed a motion for PTA to purchase 90 copies of the Booklet “10 Challenges for Parent and Teen Survival” for resale to parents . The books are $14.95 each plus tax, discount for large number of copies.

- Second grade was granted a check of $1,200 for a field trip to Stuffington Bear Company
