Meeting called to order at 6:57 p.m. Introduction of 2007-08 PTA officers:
Minutes from May 8, 2007 approvedTreasurer’s Report:
- Checking Balance: $13,150.80
- Money Market Balance: $10,156.15
- No discussion on 2007-08 PTA budget
- 2007-08 Budget approved
Principal’s Report:
- Quail Run’s population is up this year so far-by 35 kids overall
- Had to turn away some open enrollment students for 2nd grade because classes are too large
- Quail Run needs a crossing guard and duty aides
- Mr. Micheals needs parents for the Climate and Communication Committee
- Site Council needs one more parent
Entertainment Books:
- Starts September 5th
- Each child will bring one home on honor system- pay $25 for the book or return it
- If you need more ask the PTA
- The school gets $10 from each book sold.
- Money raised is going toward International Baccalaureate application
United Parent Council:
- Most likely Quail Run’s representative will be Emily Ellis
- UPC is like the PTA for the entire Paradise Valley School District
- Meetings are the third Wednesday of every month at the district office
- PVUPC.org has minutes of meetings so parents can stayed informed if miss meetings
Fry’s Reloadable Gift Cards:
- Get a $5 Gift Card with PTA membership
- School Gets 6% of parents spending
- You must put money on your card before you use it at the cash register
Membership Update:
- Membership Chairperson in Kim Spiker.
- Quail Run PTA has 150 new members so far this year, which is up by almost 60 members compared to last year at this time.
Volunteers:
- Forms to sign up are at PTA events/meetings
- Anyone can sign up- 85% of volunteers or working parents
- 3101 E Shea- a county building where anyone can go and take a short test to get food handlers card- which is required for many PTA events
- Committee Chair people needed for science fair and math madness

- Beckie Aungst made a motion to release funds not to exceed $500 to the foundation for Public Education for membership to the foundation and receive the Parenting Matters newsletter.
